Meeting, Party and Repack on Sat., Feb. 17th

News Flash: We have arranged with Skydive Chris and Reaper to repack reserves (with optional instruction) for interested pilots, at the bargain rate of $50 a chute, starting at 3:00 pm.

All of our local pilots and friends are invited to join us for our first quarterly meeting and party of the year, at 6:00 pm on Saturday the 17th, at Bob's former shop in Halawa.

Once again we will be asking our trusty barbecue committee to provide meat for grilling - please remember to bring a small cash donation to help defray the expense, or feel free to bring your own meat. We encourage everyone to bring side dishes or pupus as well as liquid refreshments to share. If you want to coordinate what to bring, please leave a comment here or call me. Contact us with any questions or agenda suggestions. I'll post an agenda here this week. See you there!

Agenda suggestion... How about a reserve repack clinic?

...on second thought - maybe too time consuming for our meeting?

If we wanted to do a repack clinic we'd need to start earlier, that's all - repacks at 3 pm, meeting and party at 6 pm, or something like that. The biggest problem is getting enough repackers lined up. Even with both Reaper and Skydive hard at work in past years they could only do a couple an hour each or so. But let's talk to them and see if they have any better ideas. Repacks are always a good idea - very few people are as current as they should be (some say 6 months is too long).

Alex . . . Am I still on the B-B-Q commity? If so I will plan to get the meat form Costco as usual.

Also . . . Reeper has stated that he will have a re-pack clinic at the YWCA in Kailua as soon as the weekend weather is "unfly-able." I think this weekend may be a bust (I am not quite the weather guru that some folks are . . . but it looks pretty windly to me).

So . . . perhaps we can get Reeper to put this thing together for this Sat or Sun.

Aloha

Jim Bango just e-mailed me to say he would like to have his chute repacked. So that's 1 for our headcount so far. Anyone else?

I still have stuff left over form the last party. I'll bring the plates, cups, paper towels, forks, knifes, spoons, CHOPSTICKS(have enough chopsticks to build a house) and one wet icecube. I'll also bring something else random. Let me know if I can bring something else. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Count me in on the re-pack clinic (or if not happening) a re-pack.

Russell e-mailed to say he'd like a repack.

Ken told Reaper he'd like 2 reserves packed. Cliff says he'd like one too. And Russ is bringing Farmer Dave's chute for a repack as well.

Charlie from the Big Island will be there for a repack as well.

To all repack candidates... please, please, please show up early as we'd really like to start the meeting on time and ongoing repacks will hamper that goal. Thanks mucho. I'll be there at 3 PM
