Quentin needs our help!

Let's show Quentin how much we appreciate his friendship and years of service to our flying community by supporting him with a paraglider pilot sign-waving session this coming Friday, August 29. We plan to wave campaign signs at the intersection of Pali and Kalaniaole Highways, to be followed by a party in Lanikai Park. Meet us at Castle Hospital at 4 pm for the sign-waving session, or even if you can't make it early enough to wave signs, please join us for the pot-luck BBQ party afterwards at 6 pm. The more the merrier - friends and family are welcome. Please sign up with a comment below if you think you can make it.

I'll be the first to sign up in the comments here - and I'll be bringing the kids with me as well, for both the sign-waving and the party afterwards.

I'll probably be looking for some airtime at Makapuu or Lanikai earlier in the day - if anyone else is available for that, let me know.

I'll join the sign waving, and the party after too - with all Q has done for us - that's the least I can offer. Maybe I'll bring him an offering of ?

Thanks Jim, thanks Pete. Quentin asked us to meet at Castle Hospital at 4:00. But we could drop some cars at Lanikai Park first since we know we'll end up back there.

Sadly Ray and I have a commitment in Hilo on that day. I sure hope that anyone available will turn out to sign wave. It really is a hoot if, perhaps, you've never done it. It's one of those things that should be on your bucket list anyway, so come on out and wave with enthusiasm. I'll be looking forward to the next round.
Q so very much deserves our support.

(Get out there you lazy bastards. Oops, did I say that out loud?)

Cheers

Great! So far we have: Quentin, me, Logan, Amelia, Jim, Pete, Kui, Ginny, Dave, Patti, Lani...

I hope some other folks will be able to come on out and join us! I know many of you enjoy creating a spectacle for onlookers - here's our chance to enthrall our commuting spectators at a whole new location, while sporting a much smaller and flatter airfoil, custom designed by folks who know a lot about heated air currents.

Also, Quentin tells me he'll be there by 3:30 if anyone wants to get started early.

I told Quentin that if he wants to get elected, we should go with a Strippers, Beer and Pizza theme at the sign waving. That would really bring people in.

Liz wanted something for the women, so I suggested next week a Chippendales, Champagne and Chocolate theme.

It would definitely get more attention than the usual pathetic sign waving action. But, what do I know?

Any info on the BBQ afterwards at Lanikai Park?

Do they need any help?

Alex said...

Yeah, Pete, we could use some help for sure. We need a grill to start with - I have a small one I can bring but a big one would be better. Then there's charcoal, food, beer, etc. Whatever you can bring would be great. I'm planning on bringing my little grill, chimney, tongs, charcoal, some meat and veggies to grill, and beer. This is our own party - Quentin is just providing the venue and the reason to get together!
