Kahana Christmas Parade

Ho, ho, ho. Today was very likely my last chance to fly for the year, since I leave town on Monday night for a month, to catch up with family and work in DC. So I was quite pleased to welcome twenty pilots to Kahana today, for a rare chance to celebrate the holiday season at my home site with a joyful aerial parade. We had as many as ten up at once, and we had one glider or another in the air for seven straight hours. And I got to fly my alien reindeer to Kaaawa and back.

One pilot (and who else could it be - no, not Dave) donned a sexy elf costume for her flight. To add to the holiday cheer, we had a perfect layer of fresh white snowy clouds blanketing the peaks all around the valley. And the merriment didn't end upon landing: many festive beverages were raised for yuletide toasts late into the evening. Thanks to everyone who provided refreshments, snacks, and entertaining landings.

Now, Dasher! Now, Dancer! Now Prancer and Vixen!

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good flight!
