Caps and Veils

Yesterday we enjoyed one last nice long flying day before we have to start looking for dry windows during the rain we are forecast to get for the next week or so, ending six straight weeks of consecutive easy flying days on the island. The approach of inclement weather was signaled by an incredible cloud show: on this last perfect day, flying from Kahana to Kualoa and back, I witnessed the most stunning display of pileus and velum clouds I have ever seen, forming around and above some very dynamic cumulus clouds. My phone pictures don’t begin to do them justice!

I neglected to mention my wingmen! It was great to fly with Allegra, Steve, Woody, Matt and Jeff. And great to see Duck, Harvey, Ian and Marc out there later on. Marc scored another nice soaring flight at the end of the day as I was leaving! Way to go.

Easy days of flying? Well for you maybe, I remember a few low saves and scratchers that I am still trying to forget.

Apparently I am not the only one that thinks the pics are good. They made the news!!! But no credits.

Thanks for the update as I was working once again.
