Countdown to Freedom!

I know everyone is counting the seconds until the end of our cruel imprisonment on the surface of our fair island. Some of the lost boys have requested an online countdown to the exact moment of our liberation. Tick, tick, tick...

Time remaining before TFR expires:

I'll be back in town the evening of Saturday the 2nd. By the time I get back into the air it will have been almost a MONTH of grounding for me. Don't be surprised to see me first in line at launch!!!

Happy New Year to everyone - see you soon!

Very nice choice of photo on this article because since I started Flying I always felt & thought of these characters, & thought I was wafting around playing in the clouds just as they do!

Thanks for the count down and perfect story, Alex you have again sparked some hope & cheer in a bleak time.

You are truly a President.

Glad you guys like the countdown. I think in Peter Pan it's tick-tock, tick-tock, but close enough. Thom, a true president would have convinced the FAA to leave us out of the TFR, or he would have made the Secret Service pay for trips to Maui and the Big Island for you guys. We need to convince the Obamas to vacation on Lanai next time. I hear it's great for young kids there, and very private - the perfect vacation spot for a stressed-out island-born world leader and his nice family! Come to think of it, maybe I should head over there and check things out first, make sure the Lodge at Koele and the Four Seasons are up to snuff for presidential family trips!

We were nextdoor to the Obamas cleaning windows on a new house. He drove in and out, but I never got to see him walking and talking.

The funny thing was we were inside many layers of Secret Service, and always had a young (kids almost) Secret Service within eye and earshot. But we felt amazingly safe with all the guns and boats pointed away from us.

I think next time he should stay on North Beach, the houses aren't quite as slick, but seeing as he goes on base to golf and workout, and a pretty secure are already, it would make sense.

I am looking forward to Monday as I am receiving a new (used)Boom5 from our Oregon buddy, Paul Murdoch, and I need to get acquainted before Valle.

Yes, it is "tick tock, tick tock, tick tock" -- I love that movie. Perfect representation of us. :)
Hau'oli Makahiki Hou, everyone! Can't wait to have you back, Alex!

Dave I think he should stay in some other island.... kauai or niihau or Lehua ( http://maps.google.com/maps?q=311++Iliwahi+Lp+96734&hl=en&t=h&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=311+Iliwahi+Loop,+Kailua,+Honolulu,+Hawaii+96734&ll=22.022895,-160.096679&spn=0.018559,0.033023&z=16 ) where there's less disruption of peoples lives...
