Papa's Got a Brand New Bag

Come here sister
Papa's in the swing
He ain't too hip
About that
new breed thing
He ain't no drag
Papa's got a
brand new bag

Apologies to the godfather of Soul. Our own "One-Eye" James has a new toy, and man is it pretty.

Fifteen pilots rocked out at Makapuu in increasingly pretty conditions on Friday, launching and toplanding Cactus and the Para Park all day and into the evening. Jim showed up to jam the late session with his brand new axe, and after flying for a while to get his groove on, he boogied out to Mel's Market for some Torpedoes. Great to see everyone out there: Bob, Jeff, Dave, Jorge, Maui Jon, RT, Frank, Ginny, Australia Joel, Reaper, Mad Dog, Berndt, Bonnie, and anyone else I'm forgetting!

I took 165 photos but was only able to pare them down to about 23. All kinds of fun shots in there. In one of them Jorge is sliding across Dave's wing as Dave kites at the lookout.

Thanks to all of you that were present for being so hospitable on Saturday. I am the P3 pilot who was visiting from the midwest.

I took some photos of Mad Dog and others. Mad Dog was kind enough to give me a tour and some info about flying Makapuu.

Here is a link to my photos:

My brother lives in Kailua and I hope to be back to join some of you for a flight in the not too far distant future.

My best to all of you always!
