Meeting and Party at 6 pm on Sat., Aug. 22

Update: see below for new details on massages for pilots, benefit car wash, plus our exciting meeting agenda!

It's that time again! Please join us for our third quarterly meeting and party, as we discuss flying issues and celebrate our latest flying adventures with old and new friends. Ray has arranged with Bob's family for us to meet at Bob's place in Kalama Valley once again - to honor his vision of his house as the HPA clubhouse.

Bob was not just a great friend to many of us; he was also a director on the board of the club, holding the illustrious office of Secretary. Our bylaws require the board to select a new director to serve the remainder of the year, so we have asked Jeff "McStalker" McCloud to fill Bob's secretarial shoes. Jeff brings top-notch writing skills and unsurpassed technical know-how to the position, and he also happens to be the runner up from our election last November. Thanks for your help, Jeff!

As usual, this will be a pot-luck dinner. We will have a grill going, so feel free to bring something that needs cooking, or a side dish or pupu, as well as your favorite beverage.

As a special treat, Ray has arranged for one of his friendly and enterprising neighbors to provide massages to interested pilots at a discounted rate during the course of the evening. What's a good paragliding party without some massage therapy?

In addition, Bob's young nephew Joseph is interested in earning money to return to Oahu next summer, and Ray suggested he could earn some cash by washing cars for our pilots. I am going to see if my son Logan would like to get in on that and help him out. Please show up on the early side with a dirty vehicle and a donation if you'd like to contribute to this worthy project.

I'll post our agenda here very soon.

Bob's family is very generous. This will probably be the last time our flying clan will be together at the place where Bob, Ray and other club members put much sweat into building his masterpiece. It's also the last meeting Lori and I will attend for a long time since we're leaving this beautiful rock on Aug 30. I hope everyone will be there.

Nightshift - I was wondering what you were doing. Back to Canada?
Looking fwd to hopefully see Lori and you if everyone is still there after I get off work.

Sorry about that - forgot to post the time the first time around. I've changed it so it clearly says 6 pm now - our usual start time. We'll definitely still be there by the time you come, Christine.
