Kaaawa Highway Cleanup: Sunday 9/22 at 9 AM

Earlier this year we adopted a two mile section of highway in Kaaawa, between Kualoa Ranch and Swanzy Beach Park, marked by signs on each end with our club's name. Keeping this area clean is a great and visible way to give back to the community that supports our flying. The terms of the adoption require we do a cleanup at least four times a year - so we're due for our second one now!

We had a great showing on our first cleanup, and filled over 20 bags, and we also found some large debris. This trip down the road should be lighter, and we will be breaking into groups to approach from both ends and meet in the middle. Thanks to Five-0 Mike for washing the vests and gloves.

This Sunday morning, September 22, 2013, at 9 AM, we will be meeting at Swanzy Beach Park. The forecast makes it look like it will be flyable afterward, but even if not, maybe we could work on our launch trails and then enjoy some relaxation time at Kahana.

It would be great to see some new faces in the crew, and hopefully our initial gang will pull through as well. See you there!
